Last night at chores, when I went to feed the guard dogs, I found Ana, half-strangled by a noose-like piece of wire around her neck.  I called Jon and he came and, with effort, was able to loosen the thing.  Ana seemed tired, but still ate quite a bit of food.

Turns out, she got caught in a snare someone must have laid out for coyotes.  We know that people have been trespassing on our land, but we assumed it was for hunting purposes.  Generally, we don’t get too worked up about trespassing, but when it endangers the lives of our dogs, that’s another thing.  We’ve lost dogs in the past and we hope not to lose more.  They are a very valuable addition to the farm and their absence would endanger the lives of our goats.
