From Field to Fork: A Hands-on Local Food Experience
We believe in getting to know our customers. In return, we invite our customers and friends to participate in the production of their food as much as possible, whether through our website, email correspondence or one-on-one interaction on the farm.
Farm Tours: We welcome visits from our customers, agritourists, foodies, friends, environmentalists, fellow farmers and others. Currently, we provide farm tours at 2 p.m. on most days, concluding with your participation (at whatever level you are comfortable) in evening chores. Depending on the season, this could include feeding goats, feeding chickens and moving our “chicken tractors”, gathering eggs, etc. Please help us plan our schedule by calling in advance of your visit.
Farm Stays: Farm stays give your family a complete “from field to fork” local food experience, stay one to five nights in our guesthouse, join in preparing and eating boarding house style meals, and participate in farm activities (caring for animals, gathering eggs, working in the garden).
The Farm Stay includes:
- Modern accommodations for up to six people
- Home-made or locally grown breakfast items (granola, yogurt, bread, eggs, fruit, pancake fixings, etc) provided for preparing and eating in the guesthouse
- Participation in the daily chores
- Optional educational activities, customized to fit your interests, such as an introduction to high density holistic grazing practices; food preservation, bread baking, yogurt making; heirloom seed harvesting; goat management
- Lunches and/or dinners featuring our own garden produce and meats, boarding house style in the farmhouse
- Opportunities for visiting nearby attractions, such as Baker Creek Pioneer Village, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum, River Float Trips and Historic Mills
